BRECKENRIDGE — The High Country will rock to the sounds of Rusted Root on Independence Day, as the Pittsburgh-based band plays a free 2 p.m. show at the Riverwalk Center.

According to Denver Westword, “When Rusted Root formed in Pittsburgh in 1990, it made a world-beat influenced splash with a series of releases throughout the decade. During this creative period, the band released its most commercially successful song, “Send Me On My Way.” The tune, which has been used on soundtracks for films like Matilda and Ice Age, features the hard-driving percussion and vocal style that have come to define the group’s sound.”

Read the full article in Westword, which includes an interview with band founder and singer/guitarist Michael Glabicki by Nick Hutchinson. The non-ticketed show will take place at 2 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center.
