Snowkite season on Dillon Reservoir

A bit of fresh snow and winds ahead of an incoming storm made for some fine snow-kiting on Dillon Reservoir.

SUMMIT COUNTY — Kite boarding and kite skiing season is in full swing on Dillon Reservoir, one of the state hotspots for the sport, with locally based Colorado Kite Force offering lessons and organizing comps like the upcoming Dillon SnowKite Open, Feb. 9 -12.

The Open includes regatta-style racing, a long-distance event (winduro), a freestyle comp and freeride sessions, as well as a demo/trainer kite day.
