SUMMIT COUNTY — With all the synergy between various social media and web-based communications platforms, I figured there had to be a way to join Flickr, the popular photo-sharing site, with WordPress. I haven’t done much with Flickr recently, but I have been throwing a few photos on there as a placeholder for Summit Voice. today, during a Summit Stage bus ride from Breckenridge to Frisco, I took a few minutes to figure out how to embed a Flickr slideshow directly into the WordPress flow. It was embarrassingly easy — just grab the url and paste it in. Voila!
Since it’s easy to organize, tag and group photos on Flickr, this is a great way for any WordPress blogger to highlight images. I’m sure other photo-sharing sites offer a similar connectivity; I’m just not familiar with them. If anyone has thoughts on other photo apps that work well with WordPress, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll check them out! Meanwhile, enjoy this Flickr slideshow, featuring some of the best Summit Voice photography from the past few months. If you view the slideshow, be sure to use the “expand” button (in the scroll bar at the bottom) for full-screen views of the images.
