Winter makes a late comeback

The satellite image from late Tuesday shows the storm winding up off the Pacific Northwest coast, with moisture covering much of Nevada.
SUMMIT COUNTY — February is ending on a wintry note the Colorado mountains, with a storm that dropped double-digit snow totals across much of the state, and forecasters say more is on the way the next few days. Get all the totals with the Colorado Ski Country USA snow report.
Winter storm warnings have already been hoisted in advance of the next incoming system, which should start dropping snow across the northern mountains Wednesday night. and snowfall should linger through Friday morning, with 8 to 16 inches possible in many higher mountain locations before the weather dries out for the weekend. West-facing slopes will get the most snow, with 6 to 10 inches forecast for the ski areas along the I-70 corridor. (more…)
