Some early scenes from Independence Day in Summit County

A good crowd turned out for the last day of skiing at Arapahoe Basin, Colorado. It was the first time A-Basin has stayed open through July 4 since 1997.

SUMMIT COUNTY — A classic high country Fourth of July starts with skiing and ends with fireworks. This year, A-Basin was packed for closing day, as much for the festivities as for the skiing. Costumes ranged from patriotic to downright silly, but everybody had fun.
