Paddling and outfitter groups give thanks with an engraved paddle

SUMMIT COUNTY — Two major whitewater groups say they are thankful for the way Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is handling potential conflicts over the Colorado River.
To show their appreciation, the American Whitewater and the Colorado River Outfitters Association presented Salazar with an engraved paddle at a private ceremony in Washington, D.C. last week. The following message was engraved on the paddle: “Thanks for navigating the process of balancing the needs of fish, wildlife and people.” (more…)
