Loveland opens today, A-Basin will fire up the new Black Mountain Express chair Monday, Oct. 25

SUMMIT COUNTY — Instead of the Monday morning blues, think white, as in snow.
Oct. 25 is opening day in Summit County, as A-Basin starts the 2010-2011 season. Even though opening day is a little later than the past couple of years, it should be a good one, as the National Weather Service is forecasting up to a foot of snow in the high country.
If you can’t wait until Monday, head over the Divide to Loveland, which is opening Sunday, Oct. 24, after picking up a few inches of snow Friday night and Saturday. Both A-Basin and Loveland have had their snowmaking systems fired up the past few days to lay down a solid base, so conditions should be good on opening day. Continue reading
