Winter settles in
FRISCO — As stormy skies gave way to clear weather once again, I ventured down into the Lower Blue for a quick photo session along the Blue River, where I found a fine crop of frost flowers growing on the fresh ice. This year, the scene is quite different in the shallows of Frisco Bay. Last winter, the ice sailing crew had a fine season in mid- to late-December, enjoying the smooth surface of the frozen reservoir. This year, of course, there’s no water, other than a few remnant puddles, so no ice to sail on. From a photography perspective, it’s not better or worse, just different. Beauty is where you find it! All these images are taken with an iPhone camera.
Many of the images in Summit Voice photo essays are available in our Fine Art America online gallery, and there’s also Summit County gallery at our ImageKind website.
