Morning photo: Freezing up

Ice, everywhere …

FRISCO —The shortest days and longest nights of the year are upon us and everywhere you look, there’s ice. Some will say, “It’s about time,” while others yearn for spring. I just go with the flow and look for beauty in the moment. I think, ultimately, that’s one of the reasons I enjoy my photo excursions. They really do keep me in the here and now, focused on what’s right in front of me at that moment in time.

The frost crystals that form on those first few really cold days are incredibly intricate and delicate. Look for them on the days right after the lakes and ponds freeze over, or early in the morning along the edges of high country streams.

  1. It’s much harder for me to see pictures this time of year. As for getting water in them – well there is little here. You have some good ones here for sure.
