Morning photo: Weekend, part 1

Summer arrives!

Sunset over Dillon Reservoir.

SUMMIT COUNTY — Nothing signals the start of summer in the Colorado high country like rainbows, ominous thunderclouds and the smell of at least 75 different BBQ cooks all simultaneously smoking, basting and grilling everything from pulled pork to gator tails and frog legs. All in all, a good start to the season around Frisco, Here’s how it looked through the digital lens of my iPhone.

Rainbow over Main Street to start the BBQ challenge.

A tent city grew Friday night at Copper Mountain, as hundreds of BMW motorcycles enthusiasts gathered for a ride in the Colorado high country.

Buffalo Mountain, Frisco, Colorado.

A luminous sky and reflection surrounds Buffalo Mountain.

In the pines.

Frisco BBQ fun. They need to make these for grownups!

It takes a really sharp knife and a surgeon’s touch to slice BBQ brisket properly.

I didn’t try it …

… Or these frog legs, either.

Ribs, baby!
