Special abound at Summit County grocery stores this week

The stores are full of items on sale for great prices this week. From basics to dinner items and a few special treats for Valentines Day, there is a lot to choose from. Let’s get to it.
First on the list are Red Bird chicken breasts, buy one, get one free at City Market. I stock up when this sale comes around and freeze them. They are great stuffed. Next is T-Bone Steak for only $6.99. Great grilled or with a coffee rub. Wild caught sockeye salmon is on sale for $7.99.
Over in the produce section, asparagus is just $1.99 per pound. You’ll find Pink Lady apples in a three-pound bag for $2.99. For a great start to the morning pick up Texas Rio Star grapefruit at $.99 per pound. Organic yellow onions are $2.99 for a three-pound bag.
Other fun picks include 32 oz. Blue Diamond Almond Breeze for $2.00. City Market Salsa in the deli case is buy one, get one free (remember, City Market will sell one for half price if you tell the cashier). And store-brand cottage cheese on sale $2.33 for the 24 oz. size.
Safeway starts your day with Chobani Greek yogurt in the 6 oz size for $1 each. Florida’s Natural orange juice on sale at $3.00 for the 64 oz size. Starbuck’s new Blonde coffee is $6.99 for 12 oz. and Johnsonville breakfast sausage is also buy one, get one free.
Drop by Natural Grocers to stock up on Organic Valley 8 oz cheese blocks only $3.49 each. Organic Prairie grass fed beef is $4.99 per pound. Spectrum Naturals organic extra virgin olive oil is only $9.99 for a 25 oz bottle. Heads up, Synergy Kombucha fans, 16 oz. bottles are on sale for only $1.99, the lowest it gets.
Now for the special treats for Valentine’s Day. My personal favorites, Chocolove Almonds and Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate, are just $1.69 for a 3.2 oz bar and Panda Licorice Chews are $1.99 each at Natural Grocers.
Over at Safeway find Lindt Truffles for $4.49 in the 7 oz bag. This Friday only, 8 inch Artisan Boston Cream Cakes are on sale for just $5.00 each. Happy shopping!
