Kelly Clark edges out Gretchen Bleiler in women’s contest
By Summit Voice
SUMMIT COUNTY — Kelly Clark out-dueled Gretchen Bleiler in a big air battle in Breckenridge Saturday afternoon, winning the women’s superpipe final by one point, 91.25 to 90.25 after both veteran U.S. riders put down clean and technical rides through the 22-foot pipe on Peak 8. Eighteen-year-old Xuetong Cai, of China, took third, scoring an 85.
No big surprises in the men’s superpipe comp either, as Shaun White bested Louie Vito and Yuri Podladchikov.
In the superpipe men’s ski event, Kevin Rollard, of France, outscored Justin Dorey and Duncan Adams as the only skier to top 90 points in the event.
