Morning photo: Moonrise!

The nature of Summit County

SUMMIT COUNTY — A good week for photography in Summit County. Although I’d rather be shooting images of plush snow pillows, the last few days of fall delivered a stunning moonrise and some incredible ice formations on Dillon Reservoir. I’ll post some more pictures of the moonrise along with images of Saturday morning’s eclipse.

The sunset wasn't bad, either ...

The moon was playing hide-n-seek.

Thick ice on Tenmile Creek.

And a few days ago, an incredible bloom of frost flowers on Dillon Reservoir. Can you see the reflection of Peak One?

That same morning brought a brilliant sundog to the surface of Dillon Reservoir.

The last rays of light dapple the grass in the Meadow Creek wetlands.

Ice feathers.

Frost on icicles ...
