SUMMIT COUNTY —The Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the Frisco Police Department are investigating allegations against an off-duty Frisco police officer stemming from a Dec. 2 incident revolving around a reported fight at 1530 Lone Pine Circle.
The allegations have resulted in a third-degree assault summons for 39-year-old Frisco Police officer Daniel Sullivan.
According to the sheriff’s office, a caller reported that Sullivan, off-duty at the time, went to the scene of a reported fight at 1530 Lone Pine Circle.
The caller to Summit County dispatch reported that, following the first contact at 11 p.m., Sullivan returned to the unit about 10 minutes later, when the contact turned confrontational, with Sullivan allegedly pushing one of the residents, causing injury to the resident’s wrist.
“We are working closely with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office on this matter,” said Frisco Police Chief Tom Wickman. “Once we have all the facts, we will determine a course of action.”
Sullivan has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.
Third-degree Assault is a class 1 misdemeanor punishable by up to 18 months in jail and/or up to a $5,000 fine.
