SUMMIT COUNTY — Breckenridge’s own whimsically named Pine Beatles will bring their brand of homegrown bluegrass and comedy to the Breckenridge Theatre (121 S. Ridge Street) on May 27, and now’s the time to get your tickets online.

There’s nothing like watching a concert performed by people you see on the mountain, trail or in the grocery store nearly every day, and that’s what you’ll get as Matt Krane, Doc PJ, Ben Brewer, Nancy Hallett, Mark Gidney, Tommy Banks and Daniel “Moose” Bednarski take to the stage to launch their spring runoff tour. You can check out some tracks online at the Pine Beatles website.

“Many of our gigs are private parties and events that require an invite or a large sum of money to attend,” the band writes semi tongue-in-cheek on its Facebook page. “People often ask us, where can we come see you play? Well, here is your chance. For $15 we’ll be yours for the evening. We have a great show planned with guest artists, some new songs and fun, live, home grown music… a rarity these days.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 12 and younger. Reservations are available online at backstagetheatre.org, by calling the box office at 970-453-0199, or by showing up at the door on the day of performance.
