March 18 Aging Wisely forum at CMC will address maintaining autonomy and good health
By Jenney Coberly
SUMMIT COUNTY — A person walks from 70,000 to 115,000 miles in an average lifetime, so it’s no wonder older people tend to have more foot problems than youngsters.
Maintaining healthy feet is just one of the many topics that will be addressed at the March 18 CMC Aging Wisely Forum. Other topics on the agenda include sports medicine, nutrition, and skin health.
And since healthy aging doesn’t stop with physical health, financial and legal issues are also on the forum schedule.
The morning keynote speaker will be Dr. Jeffrey Wallace, professor of medicine and director of clinical geriatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
Due to the positive reception for last year’s forum, this year’s event has been expanded to a full day and will include afternoon breakout sessions, information booths, and door prizes. Read the article about last year’s forum here.
The forum will be held at the Breckenridge campus of the Colorado Mountain College on Friday, March 18, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The campus is located right off of Route 9 just north of the town of Breckenridge at the intersection of Coyne Valley Road.
The cost is $20 for the full day and $10 for a half day. For more information, contact Ronda Westhoff at CMC at (970) 453-6757, or by email at rwesthoff@coloradomtn.edu.
