Mid-term vacancy opens up Aug. 16, appointment to be made at Aug. 10 council meeting

SUMMIT COUNTY — The Breckenridge Town Council is looking for civic-minded applicants to full a mid-term vacancy on the town’s planning commission. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 2. Applicants must be residents and registered voters in Breckenridge. Interviews will be conducted by the Town Council at the August 10 afternoon work session, with an appointment to follow at the evening meeting. More info after the break …
Duties of the seven-member planning commission include review and determination of requests for variances and conditional use permits, and recommendations to Town Council on special development districts, subdivisions, rezonings, various Town of Breckenridge proposed plans and other community matters. The term of the interim appointment begins August 16 and expires October 31, 2012. The Planning Commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Breckenridge Town Hall.
Persons interested in serving on the Breckenridge Planning Commission should submit letters of interest and experience, including any historic preservation experience, by mail or in person to the Community Development Director, PO Box 168, Breckenridge, CO 80424 or in person at the Community Development Department, 150 Ski Hill Road, Breckenridge no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010.
